Improve Management of Bollworm Populations with New ‘Focus on Cotton’ Webcast

A new Focus on Cotton webcast titled “Changing Bt Technologies and Bollworm Management in Bt Cotton” (click titlle to go to webcast) helps cotton growers, consultants, and other industry experts monitor the potential impact of bollworm populations and determine when additional treatments may be advantageous.

This 53-minute talk by David Kerns, Associate Professor at Louisiana State University, provides information that helps users:

  • Thoroughly scout for bollworms and plant injury
  • Identify critical infestation and injury thresholds
  • Calculate the potential benefits of insecticide treatments

This presentation is freely available through the ‘Focus on Cotton’ webcast resource located at the Plant Management Network.

‘Focus on Cotton’ contains more than 50 webcasts on various aspects of cotton crop management. These talks–accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week–cover agronomic practices, crop protection, and ag engineering.

The site also features Cotton Cultivated, a new resource from Cotton Incorporated that helps users quickly find the most current cotton production information available.
